Packers Story: (How did Kabeer look?)
I didn't watch him, but it was good to have him out there. So we'll evaluate the tape and see how he feels tomorrow. It was good to have him out there today.
(How important is this game to sorting out the offensive line?)
It's important for every position. Offensive line is obviously one of them. You'd like to get set, but we have some injuries there, we have some rotations we're looking at. But I'm hopeful we'll have a decision after this game.
(The guys who didn't practice today, are you ruling them out for the game?)
Yeah, right now they're six guys I would rule out. The five who didn't practice today, and ... actually Daniel Muir did not practice today, but I anticipate him going.
(What's Muir's injury?)
Groin.
(How long do you expect the starters to go?)
We'll go through the first half, probably start the third quarter. Some gu..
Packers Story: The Green Bay Packers have signed defensive tackle Rodney Allen and placed tight end Evan Moore on injured reserve with a knee injury. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the transactions Tuesday.
Allen, a 6-foot-2, 315-pound player, was a two-year letterman at Kansas. He will wear No. 67.
Packers Story: (So you signed a defensive tackle (Rodney Allen))
He's someone we want to look at. I know Ted (Thompson) and John Schneider and Reggie (McKenzie) worked him out last week. He's out of Kansas. I'll know more about him once I watch the film today.
(Did Evan Moore go to injured reserve then?)
Yes. We'll move Evan on to IR.
(Are you concerned about the number of dropped passes?)
I don't like it. It falls under the category we talked about yesterday about fundamentals. We didn't have a very good night in fundamentals, whether it was our pad level, footwork, dropping the ball, throwing the ball, so those are all things we work on every day. We need to do a better job of it. I think we have a perimeter group that catches the ball very well, illustrated by what we have done in the past, but that doesn't carry over obviously to the present. We work on it every day. I'm not concerned as we move forward, but we need to c..
Packers Story: (What did you think about the team's performance in San Francisco?)
As a team I don't think we played very well. We can point fingers or try to guess, but I think it probably rests with ultimately my responsibility, and then the coaching staff and then the players. I think we're all involved in it. I just don't think we were prepared to play, and it wasn't because of any lack of urgency or anything like that, I just don't think we played very well. We didn't execute, we didn't block well enough, we didn't catch well enough, we didn't throw well enough, we didn't tackle well enough. We didn't do a lot of things well enough. But the beauty of the NFL is the train keeps going and now we have another game this week, in a tough place in Denver.
(How vital is it that this team gets it together this week?) Well, preseason is preseason. You want to perform well, I think you want to get some confidence going. But I think this team has a lot of confide..
Packers Story: (What's the injury with Scott Wells? Did it flare up again?)
Flared up. It's the same thing he had on the other side. Trunk injury. They did a bunch of tests today. We'll have all the results tomorrow.
(Did it flare up during the game?)
Correct.
(Do you have an update on A.J. Hawk?)
He's week to week. Same thing, with the chest sprain. I don't think he'll make it this week.
(When do you want to get Grant out here doing the team stuff?)
All the guys that are out tested better today than they did last week, so that's a positive. But he's not ready to go to practice. Once he can complete the medical test, then I'll practice him. I was hopeful he could go this week, but he's not quite ready.
(Where's KGB at?)
He's in the same group.
(With Wells and Clifton out it kind of messes things up, but where are you with the guard rotation?)
